Verizon Wireless appears to be getting set to announce a variety of unlimited calling and data plans beginning February 19. Leaks of Verizon's plans come way of online advertisements that are popping up on Web sites such as USA Today and others.
Verizon Wireless has made no official announcement.
According to Web sites advertising the Verizon Wireless "Nationwide Unlimited" plan and news reports, such as those at Broadband Reports, the offering will include an unlimited voice plan that starts at $100 per month. And....
* A Nationwide Select Unlimited includes voice, text and media messaging will go for $120.
* A Nationwide Premium includes voice, both messaging, VZNav, VCAST and e-mail for $140.
* Nationwide E-mail and Messaging includes voice, both messaging and data, unlimited data.
* Nationwide Global E-Mail and Messaging is the same as before, but adds on an international plan for $170.
Also available with unlimited service is family plans with unlimited calling with each line costing $100.
An interesting note is the 5 GB data cap on other Verizon plans is out. Also, contract extensions will not be required for current users.
Overall, this is fantastic. In an age where people are swapping to cellphones as permanent phones, unlimited plans are a must for when calls need to be made in the usually wacky timed nights or weekend.
